High School student to sing at Awards Luncheon

ESTACI is happy to announce that David Whyte IV will be singing several selections at the 2018 Empowering Women Awards Luncheon Saturday August 11 at Historic Onancock School.

David Whyte Is the son of David and Mary Whyte of Virginia Beach. David’s voice and love for singing were discovered when he was in the fourth grade at Parkway Elementary School. Mrs. Bullock, the music teacher, asked to meet with David’s parents and informed them of his voice. This came as a shock because David was not singing at all at home. Ms. Bullock also informed his parents of The Boys Choir of Hampton Roads, a group of young African American men who travel throughout Hampton Roads performing at various venues. The Boys Choir is led by Julius E. McCullough, Artistic Director, and Geraldine Boone, Founder and Accompanist. David went on to sing with the Larkspur Middle School Choir, and continued at Green Run High school, where David is a senior, and has participated in numerous school musicals and talent shows. He is planning to major in music and theater in college.
