Dinner is served!
What tantalizing words to hear while being welcomed into the home of friends, especially in the fall on the Eastern Shore of Virginia when the fields yield their last outpourings of vegetables. We can all agree that harvesting sweet potatoes and greens is work -
but the vegetable grower will tell you the satisfaction gotten from seeing hard work rewarded, and the pleasure of sharing the abundance of his dinner table, are well worth the hard work.
Now is the time to prepare those crispy fall apples, and dig into a pot of well-seasoned greens.
